Hi Emma,
I believe Office Professional Hybrid 2007 is a pre-installed OEM version of Office. How does licensing work for this edition? Thanks in advance,

Hi Emma,
I am in the US, though I hope you can still help. We are interested in the SPLA program but our application requires SQL 2005 Ent and has not yet been tested on SQL 2008. Does the SPLA program offer downgrade rights?

Hi There
The answer is dependant on the edition of SQL youare running, Std has a different rule to Ent I am going to post very soon on SQL in a virtual environment and the new info we have available to help you work this out For now, if you have a 4 Proc box and you hardware partition this to have only 2 Procs, then you need licenses either for 2 Procs <Std/Ent edition in Physical OSEs> or 2 Procs <EE in Virtual OSEs> or running instances of the server software in virtual operating system environments on a server, you need a software license for each virtual processor that each of those virtual operating system environments uses <Std in Virtual OSEs>, Cheers Emma

Hi Emma.
I'm confused about the rules for SQL in per processor mode and was wondering if you could clarify? if I install SQL Server on a 4-CPU machine and configure SQL to use 2 CPUs, do I need 4 processor licenses or 2 processor licenses? Many thanks!
